Every kitchen quote is made of units, worktop, appliances and labour. A cheap quote usually wins by trimming the fourth one, or by leaving out the trade work that has to happen anyway.

What pushes the price up
Moving the sink or hob is the single biggest swing. It brings new waste runs, new supply pipework and often a new electrical circuit, which together add roughly £1,500 to £3,000 before a unit is fitted.
Floor levelling is the second. A terrace floor that drops 30mm needs overboarding or latex before units can be set true, and skipping it means doors that will never line up.

Where you can save without regretting it
Keep the layout and spend the saving on the worktop and the doors, which are what you see and touch every day. Buy appliances separately in a sale rather than through a kitchen supplier's package. Choose a quality laminate worktop over a budget stone, because a poor stone edge looks worse than a good laminate.
